What Led Me to Doula Certification

At bebo mia, our mission is to train doulas who are prepared for the full reality of this work. Our online doula training covers fertility, birth, postpartum, and loss, and supports students in becoming full spectrum doulas. We have awarded more than $500,000 in doula scholarships and doula awards to expand access to doula certification. This blog shares the story of one of our scholarship recipients.

My name is Marissa Robinson, and I’m incredibly thankful to receive the bebo mia scholarship as I begin my training to become a doula.

A Passion for Supporting Others

Throughout my life, I have always been passionate about helping people and being present for them during meaningful life experiences.

Discovering Birthwork

As I learned more about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care, I began to see how important emotional and informational support can be during these moments. That realization led me to explore doula work more deeply.

Why This Work Matters to Me

Supporting families through pregnancy and birth is a powerful responsibility. Being able to offer reassurance, guidance, and compassionate presence is something I feel deeply connected to.

What the Scholarship Makes Possible

Receiving this scholarship makes it possible for me to access training that will help me grow into a confident and knowledgeable birthworker.

I’m excited to continue learning through the bebo mia program and to eventually support families as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences.
