A Scholarship Is More Than Financial Support
Receiving a scholarship often represents more than assistance with tuition. It can provide the opportunity to pursue a calling that once felt out of reach. At bebo mia, we’re proud to support future doulas through accessible, full spectrum education.
A Heart for Children, Families, and Community
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to become a Doula! for this scholarship and to share my journey with the Bebo Mia community. From everything I have learned, this is a space built on compassion, inclusivity, and genuine care—values that resonate strongly with both my personal and professional life. It means so much to even be considered, and I already feel inspired by the warmth and encouragement that your community represents.
I am currently a social worker at a daycare, where I work closely with families and children from infancy through age five. Supporting young children during their earliest stages of development—and guiding their families through challenges and milestones—has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I have always known that I wanted to become a social worker and dedicate my career to helping children. That passion comes from a deep belief that every child deserves a strong, supported start in life, and every parent deserves to feel confident and cared for along the way.
In my own life, family and community are everything. They have shaped who I am and continue to inspire the work I do. I carry those values into my profession every day—whether I am comforting a toddler, helping a parent access resources, or simply listening when someone needs to be heard. That same sense of care and connection is what draws me toward becoming a doula.
Following a Long-Held Dream
I am applying for this scholarship because I am currently finishing my bachelor’s degree while working full-time with children, and financially, things are tight. Despite that, I have felt a strong and persistent calling to become a doula. It has truly been a dream of mine. I want to help spread awareness about the importance of maternity care and ensure that more birthing individuals feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their journey. This scholarship would not only ease the financial burden but also allow me to take a meaningful step toward fulfilling that dream.
I chose to apply to train with Bebo Mia because of its reputation for being a welcoming and inclusive community. I have read so many positive experiences from others who felt supported, seen, and valued throughout their training. That sense of belonging is incredibly important to me. I want to learn in an environment where diversity is respected, where voices are uplifted, and where I can grow not only as a professional but also as a compassionate human being. I truly believe Bebo Mia offers that kind of space.
Supporting Families Through Every Step
My desire to become a birth worker comes from a place of deep respect for the birthing process. Bringing life into the world is one of the most powerful and transformative experiences a person can go through, yet many do not receive the care, understanding, or support they deserve during that time. I want to walk alongside birthing mothers, helping them navigate this important moment with confidence and clarity. I want them to feel nurtured, informed, and never alone. Every mother deserves to feel loved, supported, and cared for—especially during such a life-changing experience.
After completing the program, I hope to focus my work on supporting teen mothers and those who face language barriers. These are communities that are often underserved and in need of additional care and advocacy. I would love to partner with a nonprofit organization and offer my services for free initially, allowing me to gain hands-on experience while giving back. Over time, I hope to establish myself as a doula within my community and offer services on a sliding scale, ensuring that support is accessible to all who need it.
Thank you again for granting me access to becoming a doula, I am truly grateful.
