Doula Training That Reflects Real Needs
Our full spectrum doula training is built to reflect the realities of care today. From fertility to postpartum, we prepare students for meaningful work. Through our doula scholarship program, we continue to support access to this education.
A Life Rooted in Family, Creativity, and Purpose
Hi, I am Letisha — a wife, mother, and creative entrepreneur. My husband and I both run our own businesses. He is a filmmaker and founder of The Hadley Broadcasting Company, and I have poured my heart into building Yes Doula. Together, we are raising three amazing children, ages 10, 8, and 5; shaping a life rooted in faith, family, purpose, and art.
Creating a Home Centered on Learning and Connection
Our household is filled with learning and laughter. We homeschool using a blend of Montessori and Waldorf principles, which allows our kids to grow at their own pace while nurturing creativity and curiosity. It is a busy life, but it’s also a beautiful one — and everything I do, from mothering to birthwork, flows from that same sense of intentional care and connection.
How Birth Experiences Shaped Her Calling
~ How My Birth Experiences Shaped My Calling
Each of my three birth experiences was unique — ranging from good to truly stellar. With each pregnancy and delivery, I learned more about my body, my choices, and my power. Every experience deepened my understanding and gave me the confidence to approach birth with intention.
The Power of Knowledge, Advocacy, and Support
Having a supportive, informed partner and a clear understanding of my rights allowed me to shape my births the way I envisioned them. I saw how knowledge and partner advocacy could shift everything. That realization was life-changing. It showed me the power of education, community, and trust — and it inspired me to help other families experience the same empowerment.
A Scholarship That Bridges Passion and Growth
~ Why I Wanted the Bebo Mia Scholarship
When I discovered the Maternal Support Practitioner Program at Bebo Mia, I immediately felt drawn to it. This was not just about gaining another certification — it was about joining a community that shares my values and understands the importance of inclusive, heart-centered care.
Strengthening the Foundation of Her Work
I am deeply passionate about addressing global maternal wellness and supporting expecting mothers through every stage of their journey. This scholarship program will help strengthen the foundation of Yes Doula I have built so far.
Connecting Vision With Structure and Support
As a mother and entrepreneur, I have learned how essential it is to have the right tools, training, and network of support. The Bebo Mia scholarship represents a bridge that connects my passion with the professional structure needed to make Yes Doula thrive.
Finding Alignment With Bebomia’s Approach
~ Why Bebo Mia?
What I love about Bebo Mia is how deeply it understands the needs of the modern doula. Their programs are thoughtfully designed to meet doulas where they are, whether they are just beginning or expanding their practice. The combination of business mentorship, professional certification, and trauma-informed education reflects a real commitment to helping birthworkers grow sustainably and authentically.
Choosing a Community Rooted in Integrity and Purpose
The language Bebo Mia uses, the tone they set, and the care they put into their offerings all tell me that this is a community rooted in integrity and purpose. They do not just want to train doulas, they want to empower us to serve our communities in lasting, transformative ways. And this is the kind of support system I want to be part of.
Birthwork as Both Calling and Creative Expression
~ Why I Want to Be a Birthworker
I became a birthworker because I have seen the power of an informed, supported birth, and I want every mother and birthing person to have that experience.
Birthwork, for me, is both a calling and a creative expression. It allows me to blend my love of storytelling, advocacy, and holistic care. I believe that maternal wellness doesn’t end at birth — it is a lifelong journey that affects families, communities, and generations.
Expanding Birthwork Through Storytelling and Innovation
I want to weave my understanding of birth with storytelling and technology, to create resources, conversations, and media that help demystify birth and return it to the realm of joy and empowerment. Every expecting mother deserves to feel safe, seen, and celebrated.
A Vision for Global Impact and Accessibility
~ My Vision for Yes Doula After the Program
After completing my training with Bebo Mia, I plan to expand Yes Doula into a global platform — a trusted 24-hour resource for maternal wellness, information, and support.
Creating Access and Opportunity for Communities
My goal is to make doula care as accessible as possible through virtual sessions, educational content, and storytelling that bridges culture, technology, and compassion. I envision Yes Doula becoming a household name. A community-driven brand that supports mothers while creating economic opportunities for doulas, especially in underserved areas.
Transforming the Narrative Around Birth
Ultimately, I want to shift the global conversation around birth from one of fear and disparity to one of pleasure, trust, and empowerment. Birthwork that heals, uplifts and inspire. When we uplift one woman, we uplift entire generations. I see Yes Doula as both a service and a movement — one that helps every mother say yes to herself, her power, and her peace.
