It's Scholarship Time!

It’s that time of year again, the sweaters are coming out and we are pairing scarves and booties with our jeans. Well, ok that is not happening here in Toronto, we are still sweating away in our tank tops and shorts, but we are getting ready for the Fall programs. That means we have opened the doors to our Maternal Support Practitioner (aka doula) training & certification for September!

As we come into our 14th class for Fall 2016, we are so proud of how the program has grown exponentially over the years. One of the major differences our program has, compared to what is out there, is that we offer accessible trainings for anyone, anywhere. Our second major difference, and this one is our favourite, we offer intensive support through the entire process. Nervous about your first client in labour? We are right there next to you! Giving opportunity for women in financial need.

We know that not everyone can afford the education necessary for their dream career. Globally, women, especially women with children in their care, miss out on educational opportunities which could lead to an earning potential. This is something that we are working to overcome at bebo mia inc.

Our mission is to support women in connecting to their intrinsic value and power. We believe that education, especially education that will support your income, is power. Each year bebo mia inc. offers scholarship placements to women in financial need so that they can complete our Maternal Support Practitioner training and launch their doula careers.

Our next Maternal Support Practitioner training session begins Thursday September 29th, 2016 at 7pm EST.

Our training runs for 13 weeks and covers fertility, pregnancy, the postnatal period AND business. It is all online and live, so you can interact, ask questions, and make sure you are confident with the material. Having our training online also eliminates the need and costly expense for care for your children while you are in class, and you get to listen anytime, anywhere, which is the ideal fit for your busy schedule.

Building a strong community!

Community is such a crucial aspect of our training. The women who have graduated from our program are from all over the world and yet there is a constant feeling of closeness and connection in our classes and Facebook support group. We all give and receive an incredible amount of information and praise as we go through the training and beyond. It never feels like we are separated by hundreds or thousands of miles.

How do you apply? Just complete this application and let us know why you should receive a full scholarship. All entries must be received by September 11th before midnight EST to be considered. We will be reviewing them and announcing our winner September 13th, 2016.

Want to meet last year’s winners? We normally only select 1 winner and for the Spring class we had 3 since we could not choose from all of the amazing applications! We had April from Ireland, Brittany from the United States, and Joei from Canada. They are all doing so well starting their doula businesses and we could not be more proud of them!
