bebo mia & Olivia Scobie are Practicing Radical Generosity

We are so excited to announce that Olivia Scobie Counseling will be one of our Scholarship Sponsors for our Spring 2018 session of our MSP (aka doula training) Program! But first, we want to talk about generosity for a moment.

The #bebobabes have experienced some unbelievable generosity over the course of our bebo mia business life. Generosity shows up in so many ways around us… When experts share their amazing wisdom on our various channels and blogs. When our clients & friends (and our moms of course) cheer us on and share our posts.  When our graduates take the time to write a review on our social media channels. When businesses we think are swell donate their products for us to give to our clients and fans.

There are ways generosity shows up big and small, and we work so hard to make sure we really take them all in.

We feel the love and support – at times we even find ourselves in complete awe of the generosity that we get to experience.

We also make sure that we are as generous as possible by practicing radical generosity. What’s radical generosity? Well we certainly cannot take credit for the inspiring term. We first encountered this concept when we became an activator with SheEO last year – an organization that is changing the way we support and finance female-led ventures. We feel it is crucial to support and lift up and cheer for as many people as possible. Over the last year we have donated over $45,000 in courses and memberships through full and partial scholarships to our programs.

We also have an amazing sponsorship program that allows generous businesses and practitioners the opportunity to provide a scholarship to a woman* who would greatly benefit from the program and cannot afford it.

We know that not everyone can afford the education necessary for their dream career. Globally, women, especially women with children in their care, miss out on educational opportunities which could lead to an earning potential. This is something that we are working to overcome at bebo mia inc and our sponsors support us in doing more!

This session we have an amazing sponsor, Olivia Scobie Counseling who is providing the Olivia Scobie Perinatal Mental Health Scholarship.

Olivia Scobie, MSW, RSW, MA, ACC, MSP is a postpartum social work counsellor who specializes in perinatal mood, birth trauma, and maternal mental health. She is also the founder of Postpartum Support Toronto. She believes in good scotch, telling your story, and supporting families through difficult times.

The recipient of this scholarship will be prioritized to people who survived or have a special interest in working with parents with mood disorders.

The work that Olivia is doing in the field of mental wellness is so impactful and critical. She offers a wealth of knowledge, inclusive care, judgement-free support and fabulous resources. One of her free e-books is a must for parents and practitioners alike. Check out her DIY Postpartum Mood Support Planning E-Book.

Want to be a sponsor? Know someone who would like to support a woman* through her certification and career training? Check out our Sponsorship Guide here. Not only do we offer the opportunity to support women* in their education, without which most would not be able to create their birth and parenting businesses, each of those women* go on to support other women* and families in their own communities through their pregnancy, birth and postnatal periods. This initiates (and in many cases, amplifies) the ripple effect of initiatives that value teaching excellence, cultivating community, ongoing mentorship and holistic advocacy.

*We use the term ‘woman’ & ‘women’ in our mission and through some of our values work. We define woman/women as women-identified, femme-presenting, two-spirited, genderqueer, trans-inclusive, gender-non-conforming, androgynous, agender, intersex, bigender, gender questioning, gender fluid, butch, non-binary, queer positive or any person that would like to be included in this definition.

Your future is created by what you do today — that's why we created a completely FREE mindset mini-course to help doulas and birth workers find bliss in their business!
