A Life Shaped by Family, Community, and Motherhood
HI My name is Timilya Mcdougle and I am really excited to share a little bit about myself I am a mom of four i have 2 girls and 2 boys i also come from a mom and dad of four girls who had a very strong foundation Growing up, my family and my community were always at the heart of everything I did. The love and support I’ve experienced in my own life have shaped my values and made me passionate about helping others in their journeys—especially through birth. I experienced c-section and I also experinced natural birth where I was only labor for just an hour and half with my experience I feel that I can connect to mom’s who are also experiencing child birth
Turning Personal Experience Into Purpose
The reason I’m pursuing this scholarship is because I truly believe in the power of birthwork and the difference it can make in people’s lives. When I first learned about bebo mia, I just knew this was something I wanted to do. I’m driven to create meaningful, supportive experiences for families during such a significant time in their lives. I also know how expensive training can be, and this scholarship gives me the opportunity to make this dream a reality without financial stress.
Choosing a Community That Aligns With Her Values
As for why I want to train with Bebo Mia, it’s because of the amazing community and training they offer. I’ve heard nothing but incredible things about the program, and I’m drawn to their holistic, trauma-informed approach to birthwork. I want to train with people who truly care about not only the families they serve but also their own well-being as birthworkers. The Bebo Mia community feels like a place where I can grow, connect with others who share my passion, and get the tools I need to be the best birthworker I can be.
Answering the Call to Support Families
Becoming a birthworker is more than just a career for me—it’s a calling. I’m committed to offering emotional, physical, and educational support to families during one of the most vulnerable and transformative times in their lives. I’ve seen how positive birth experiences can empower families, and I want to help create that for others. It’s about providing a safe space where people feel heard, supported, and respected no matter what kind of birth they’re planning.
Building a Business Rooted in Community and Care
After completing this program, I plan to start my own birthwork business, focusing on prenatal education, postpartum support, etc.]. I’m passionate about building a business that is community-centered, inclusive, and accessible to all. I want to create a space where families can feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their journey into parenthood.
A Closing Filled With Gratitude and Excitement
Thanks for taking the time to read this and for considering me for this opportunity. I’m so excited to continue on this path and to contribute to this beautiful, impactful field!
