We highly recommend starting with the Maternal Support Practitioner Certification as your foundational training. This 3-in-1 certification fully prepares you with the knowledge and skills needed to begin your journey as a fertility, birth, and postpartum doula.

From here you can continue your education by choosing a specialty program in Fertility, Pregnancy, or Parenting.

At bebo mia, we firmly believe that the fertility and pregnancy experiences greatly influence the birth and parenting experiences. It is impossible to separate any one of these experiences from the other and as a Maternal Support Practitioner (doula) you are most effective when you have a deep understanding of the parenting journey. Does this mean you do not choose a speciality? Not at all! We highly recommend you follow the path that excites you the most, and with some foundational knowledge in all areas of maternal health.

bebo mia is a globally recognized online doula training organization with the most comprehensive doula training available, including a 17 week curriculum and on-going business support. What this means is that you are able to engage in an immersive learning environment over the course of 4 months. By spreading the course out over 4 months it provides you with the opportunity to ask TONS questions and digest, then integrate the information.

We have a wide variety of continuing education programs that you can choose from to deepen your learning and/or specialize in. All of our programs are inclusive, diverse, in-depth, accessible and have community support. Our goal is to see you succeed, and we know the importance of continuous care in order to experience success. Our support does not leave you when your certification is complete; we are always here for you and you are now part of the bebo mia fam.

When we first moved our trainings online, this was our biggest worry. We are delighted to let you know that the opposite happened. We were able to create a close connection with our participants PLUS our trainings are more accessible for those who might otherwise not be able to travel to an in-person, weekend doula training for various reasons.

We teach all topics in a variety of ways in order to integrate all styles of learning which includes: role play, pop-quizzes, lectures, research assignments, videos, expert guest speakers, art projects and much more. Using a variety of tools for teaching makes it possible for all participants to learn in the way that suits them best.

We have been and continue to grow our community by infusing all of our work with love and support for each other. We lift each other up, we cheer each other on and we keep creating connections with people around the world that feel like life long friends to us.

Please don’t worry if online learning is completely new to you. Our training site is super easy to use and we guide you along, every step of the way!

The steps towards certification vary depending on the program you choose. For most of our programs, you will be required to complete your training modules, final exam, 2 book reports and a case study.

When all requirements are complete you will submit your certification packet to our education department.

Nope! There are NO recertification or membership fees at bebo mia.

Yes. Although you must enroll in the training portion of our program. Any birth/postpartum care attended in the last 3 months will count towards your practical hours.

We want your certification to feel manageable and accessible, and we know that life keeps happening no matter how many times we ask for a pause button.
Students will have the option of a ONE TIME 9-month extension after their certification deadline. If the certification requirements are not fulfilled after the extension and you still wish to certify, a $379 fee will be required to retake the training portion so that you graduate with the most up to date information.

Yes we certainly do have payment plans and are able to extend on an as-needed basis. Please contact [email protected] if this applies to you.

ABSOLUTELY! Yes, yes you can. All of our programs are designed for you to learn and study at the pace that works best for your needs. At bebo mia we work in a semestered system so we do highly encourage you to start at the beginning with your cohort so you have support as you move through each class.

The reason bebo mia became the training organization that you see today is because we recognized the lack of business training in the maternal health field. It is our mission to ensure that doulas have business support after their skills training as this is an integral part of creating a successful career. You can be the best doula in the world and you need the business support to know how to get your message out there.

While each program includes business training, we also have a doula business mentorship/mentorship that you can check out.
