doula training scholarship application bebo mia

It’s almost September and for us, it feels like the beginning of a new year. Here at the bebo mia headquarters, we are all hustling to welcome all of the wonderful new students into our Fall 2017 MSP Program. That means that we have already opened registration for our Maternal Support Practitioner (aka doula training) & certification which starts September 28th, 2017!

… AND 0ur wonderful co-founder & COO, Natasha, is just a few days away from meeting her new baby girl! As always, there’s lot of exciting things happening around here.

We are thrilled to announce that the Scholarship Application Process for our doula training & certification program is officially open!

As we come into our 16th class for Fall 2017, we want to talk about the fact that we are so proud of how the program has grown over the years. One of the major differences our program has, compared to what is out there, is that we offer accessible trainings for anyone, anywhere. Our second major difference and this one is our favorite,  is that we offer intensive support throughout the entire process. Nervous about your first client in labour? We are right there next to you! Reach out and we will talk to you to get you ready! Not sure how to market your business? We will help you with that too!

Our doula training is so much more than providing you with the skills you will need to do doula work. It is a community. It is a group of cheerleaders. It is a squad in your corner – it’s some legit #squadgoals.

We know that not everyone can afford the education necessary for their dream career. Globally, women, especially women with children in their care, miss out on educational opportunities which could lead to an earning potential. This is something that we are working to overcome at bebo mia inc.

Our mission is to support women in connecting to their intrinsic value and power. We believe that education, especially education that will support your income, is power. Each year bebo mia offers scholarship placements to women who are experiencing serious financial need (no-to-low-income) so that they can complete our Maternal Support Practitioner training and launch their doula careers.

Our next Maternal Support Practitioner training session begins Thursday, September 28th, 2017 at 7pm EST.

Our training runs for 12 weeks (plus a bonus week!) and covers fertility, pregnancy, the postnatal period AND business. All of the classes are live and online, so you can interact, ask questions, and make sure you are confident with the material. With our training taking place online it eliminates the need and costly expense for care for your children while you are in class, and did we mention the live classes are also recorded? You get to listen anytime, anywhere, which is the ideal fit for your busy schedule.

Community is a crucial and integral aspect of our training.

The women who have graduated from our program are from all over the world and yet there is a constant feeling of closeness and connection in our classes and private Facebook support group. We all give and receive an incredible amount of information and praise as we go through the training and beyond. It never feels like we are separated by hundreds or thousands of miles.  And, to add to the community vibe this Fall, for the first time ever, we are proud to announce that two incredible businesses are sponsoring two of the three scholarships available.

Our first scholarship is the “Hip Mommies Happy & Healthy Family Scholarship” sponsored by Hip Mommies. Hip Mommies is Canada’s Leading distributor of health and baby products for modern Canadian families. They distribute useful, well-made, thoughtful, mom-approved, safe products that are manufactured in a responsible way and look to partner with suppliers that are good people, supporting good causes, and that are doing business ethically.

Our second scholarship is the “Continued Cuddles by SleepBelt Scholarship” sponsored by SleepBelt. SleepBelt is owned and operated by sisters Hayley Mullins and Ashley Wade, both busy moms who know that the world doesn’t stop when you have a newborn…even though it should. The SleepBelt is designed for the 4th trimester and beyond; it is recommended in “Sweet Sleep” by La Leche League International, a PTPA Winner and Champion of the Center for Babywearing Studies.  It is used in hospitals in NICUs and with full term babies.

And our third and final scholarship is the “#bebobabes Bursary” and we’d like to think you’ve come to understand what we’re all about.

How do you apply? Just complete this application and let us know why you should receive a full scholarship.

All entries must be received by September 18th, 2017 11:59 PM EST to be considered. We will be reviewing them and announcing our winner on September 22nd, 2017.

Head over to our Facebook Page and ‘Like’ us to get the notifications about the winner, as well as lots of other great information!

Know someone that would be a great candidate? Please pass on this link, we would love to hear from them.

Want to meet last year’s winners? Officially, we only select 1 winner and for the Spring 2017 class we chose 4 since we could not choose from all of the amazing applications. Learn more about winners Hayden & Jennifer. They are doing so well starting their doula journeys and we could not be more proud of them!

If you have any questions for us, just comment below and we will get you your answers.

We want to note that in order to complete the bebo mia inc. doula training, applicants will need access to a computer and internet for streaming the live classes.
