Rachel decided to become a Doula while pregnant with her second child. During her first pregnancy her Type A personality had her convinced that if she just learned enough about birth that it would be easy. After all, women have been doing this since the dawn of time. Instead she learned that you can’t negotiate with contractions, that your partner has almost as many questions as you do and there is no calling a time out in birth, or parenthood. Her goal is to help other type A women prepare for and enjoy their birth for the empowering and emotional experience it is. Whether that birth takes place at home or in a hospital, with or without medication, education and perspective make all the difference.

Prior to joining Bebo Mia as a Birth Doula, Rachel worked in marketing and business development on Bay Street. Hey, everyone has a past! She has two wonderfully charming children who love a good kitchen dance party. In her spare time she oversees her retirement plan, a small portfolio of real estate in Florida. She has bought, sold and renovated both in Toronto and Florida, so hit her up for ideas at your free consult. Home renovations and labour, two things you can never prepare enough for.
